The origins of the armillary sun dial
date back to the 3rd century BC,
when the ancient Greeks developed the armillary sphere as an astronomical
tool to determine the positions of the sun and stars. Featuring the same
quality craftsmanship as those created more than 2,000 years ago, these
armillary sundials are sure to be the centerpiece of any garden or astronomy
collection.
Solid brass construction and classical styling add an air of stately elegance to this sundial. When pointed north, the celestial arrow casts a shadow over the Roman numeral timeline, indicating the approximate time of day.
